Orly Airport Paris is situated about 13km (8 miles) south of Paris. Before the construction of Charles de Gaulle Airport in the 1970s, Orly was the main airport of Paris.
Even with the shift of most international traffic to Charles de Gaulle Airport, Orly remains the busiest French airport for domestic traffic and the second busiest airport overall in terms of passenger boardings.
British operator easyJet, the low cost budget carrier, has recently grown a large hub here too.
In April 2019 the two main terminals, west and south were joined by a new building known as Orly 3. This is a junction building which now allows passengers to travel between all areas of the airport under one roof. This one single terminal is now structured around four departure and arrival zones, Orly 1, 2, 3 and 4. These names now replace the former west and south terminals.
There are further developments planned at Orly with a new rail station to be added to the heart of the airport by 2024.
You can walk between each terminal in around 5 minutes, it is worth knowing that walking from Orly 1 to Orly 4 would take 15 minutes. The Orlyval shuttle train can take you from Orly 1-2-3 station to Orly 4 station within a minute, so is a much faster way to move around the terminal. The Orlyval, pictured below runs frequently. Its other purpose is to go beyond the airport to the nearest RER train service at Antony, perhaps the fastest route into the centre of Paris. You can only travel between the terminals free of charge.
The full range of services you would expect of a major international airport are at Orly Airport. All the various airport buses, hotel shuttles and taxis are easily accessed immediately outside the terminal.
We work with a local private transfer service to provide you with options to book transfers for yourself, your family or your larger group coming into or leaving Paris from Orly Airport.
